Geocoding Software
Geocoding is the process of turning a street address into a geographic coordinate. It can turn a simple list of customers, prospects, or partners into a rich dataset that can be visualised as a map or analysed to see patterns in where these addresses are clustered.
In conjunction with your own data, such as expenditure figures or lead quality, your address lists come alive as you see exactly where your company's reach is, and more importantly, where it needs to be!
MapData Services' QuickLocate® geocoding technology is the core of all of our geocoding solutions. QuickLocate is:
- Accurate - QuickLocate can geocode any address in Australia or New Zealand down to street address level. In conjunction with the Geocoded National Address File of Australia (G-NAF), addresses can be geocoded down to the apartment level.
- Fast - For bulk geocoding, QuickLocate can achieve speeds of over a million addresses per hour.
- Smart - QuickLocate has the smarts to accurately pinpoint addresses given incomplete, erroneous, or conflicting information such as spelling mistakes or "vanity" suburb names. QuickLocate also has a sophisticated "fall-back" mechanism, meaning that if it can't find the exact location it will get as close as possible - if it can't find the exact address it will provide the centre of the street; if it can't find the street it will find the centre of the suburb or Postcode.
QuickLocate also provides:
- Address Cleaning. QuickLocate cleans and corrects your original addresses, fixing problems such as spelling mistakes, wrong street types, and incorrect postcodes.
- Reverse Geocoding. Already have the coordinates? Reverse geocoding turns coordinate pairs back into real addresses! This feature is currently available in our QuickLocate Software Development Kit.
